This term, Year 5 have been learning about the vicious Vikings. We had fun planning and performing an assembly to demonstrate what we’ve been learning. After an exciting opening, where we roared in shouting Viking words, such as ‘berserk!’ and rowing to the beat of a drum, our assembly kept rolling with fun and information.

We described Viking raids, transport and weaponry, whilst enjoying modelling our Viking helmets. What do you think?

No one was envious of our descriptions of Viking food. No one wanted to be a monk around the time either!

Some Year 5s shared a dance they had created, telling the story of the Viking’s great effort and determination in longboat making,  and rowing across from Scandinavia.

We finished our assembly with a fun Viking song, along with a great dance performance from the whole year group.

Even Mr Gower couldn’t resist joining in!
