Year 6 have been working hard on their writing.
They wrote their own version of the picture book ‘Gorilla’ by Anthony Browne.
Their narratives were an extended piece of writing which took two weeks to write.
When they were finished, they visited visited Year 1 to read their work to the younger children.
The Year 1 children listened beautifully and asked questions too.
The Year 6 children really enjoyed sharing their work; it gave their writing real purpose.
When the children had finished reading ‘Gorilla’, the Year 6 children also shared their science writing about light. This writing was an information text explaining the sources of light, how light travels and some interesting facts about light.
Year 1 are planning to visit Year 6 soon to share their writing too! We are looking forward to it!
